Allendale New jersey and Neighboring Boroughs.

Bergen county New jersey is a big county with a lot of Boroughs. In fact, it’s the most heavily populated county in the state, as might be expected since it borders  New York City. Among its many boroughs  is glen rock nj with a population of between eleven and twelve thousand residents. Glen Rock was formed in 1894 and is named for a 570 ton boulder deposited by a glacier which lies at the end of the Town’s main thoroughfare, appropriately titled “Rock Road”. The Lenape tribe of Native Americans indigenous to the region called the rock “the Stone From Heaven.”

A few boroughs to the north is the borough of allendale new jersey, with a population of only about half the size of its neighbor.  Allenedale hosts a nature preserve known as the Celery Farm, which, in addition to providing a habitat for many species of land animal is especially noted for the many species of exotic birds observed there by ornithologists, including the bald eagle and the pileated woodpecker.

Just west of Allendale is the borough of franklin lake nj , larger in geographical area than either of the two previously discussed boroughs, but just about as populous as Glen Rock, with almost eleven thousand residents. Franklin Lakes has the dubious distinction og being number 146 of Forbes Magazine’s list of most expensive zip codes, with a median home price near $1.3 million amd a median family income over $140,000. The borough is young, being formed in 1922.
